$7.99 Autozone In-Store Oil/Filter special plus FREE Injector Cleaner

http://www.autozone.com/in_our_store...tore_deals.htm

$7.99 for 5 quarts of Exxon Superflo (any weight), and a STP Oil Filter. No rebate needed. Excellent deal IMO, as the Exxon Superflo oil and the STP Oil filter are both solid choices for 5K drains.

They also have a free STP Injector cleaner after MIR; I'd suggest adding it 500 miles before an oil change so that any contamination with the engine oil won't be an issue.

Glad I don't live in Michigan. Oil/Filter is still a great deal.

Nice find. Makes my frugal heart turgid.

But... as you know Michael, I have enough oil in my "vault" to last the TL for the next ten (10) years or 30,000 miles- whichever comes first. (It will be the ten years.)

Ha! That's only like 50 quarts. That's nothing compared to another guy's vault, which is 350 quarts.

Probably. Its most likely a Techron-like product...good for the occassional "shocking" of the fuel system. After all, its like $1.00 after mail-in rebate if you count the taxes and postage. Not bad at all, it won't hurt. Just make sure you add it 500 miles before an oil change so that any oil contamination that occurs won't be a problem.

The best fuel additives IMO are used at every fill-up, to continuously clean and improve combustion efficiency. Fuel Power is one example.

Nice deal.
I use STP fuel system cleane every oil change, and another round of STP fuel injector cleaner one fill up later.

Meh. Mobil1

I've never run any type of cleaners in my car and it's at 52k miles. What brand/type do you recommend, Michael?

I'd only use it to clean carbs...wouldn't use it for fuel...that stuff is harsh to the engine oil once it contaminates it.

I just realized I hadn't changed my oil in 15K. Well I checked the dipstick cause I heard a slapping (most likely valve train) and the dipstick didn't even register

Added 3.5 quarts, hopefully it'll get me through another 10K

I read it and it said you can put it in the oil crank case.
