$30M Ferrari Wrecked...

...now THAT'S a bad day. Link: http://autos.aol.com/article/ferrari...est=latestnews

Of course, driving a car always comes with the chance of an accident, and unfortunately that's just what happened when Cox recently had the 250 GTO out on track as part of the model's 50th anniversary tour in France last week. Details of the extent of the accident are scarce, but the off-track excursion at the Reims-Gueux race track was bad enough that his wife broke her leg on impact.

My first thought was this was the former SEC chairman but I don't know he had enough private sector time to amass that kind of wealth. He was in public service as a congressman, White House lawyer, and SEC chairman from the late 80s to 2009.

Because it is $30M?

I don't know if Lloyds of London would even insure it for occasional track use.

Can never tell if it's true or not, but that's what they said on Top Gear. When Jeremy was showing the new 599 GTO, he said that BBC couldn't afford the insurance to let him drive the 250 GTO he stood next to on their private track

She was probably nagging him about not visiting her mother and he just said, "Fuck it" and drove into the trees

How much is one worth to own and track a 30M dollar car?

Not sure how I feel about this. I feel bad that a beautiful car was wrecked.

that's why I always loved going to pebble beach concours and only doing the historic races at mazda. Guys take multimillion dollar cars and drive the piss out of them

btw, apparently the crash didn't happen on the track, but happened on the road by a car trying to overtake the GTO.

This car will be fixed, the chassis # is 95% of the cars value.
