I am selling this used XLR-8 catback exhaust. I bought it from HearTLs a few months ago and decided that this isn't the direction that I want to go in modding my car. It's available to pick up in the Boston area and if you want to swap your stock exhaust with mine, I'm open to working something out. Please send a PM if you don't want to discuss openly on here. I'd like $750 or best offer. I'm open to swaps for the right parts (J-Pipe/CT Engineering Icebox). At this time I would strongly prefer to not ship it.

So you're selling it for at least $100 more than you paid for it.

 

if i remember correctly..HeartTL was actully asking 650 originally. and i was gonna buy this from him, but he sold it before i made it out there..

the exhaust is like 1200 new..so even at 850 its a good deal..but hes def making some money for his time..

 

You were going to put the 4G XLR8 on your Type S?

 

I'm expecting that I will be negotiated down to around what I paid for it, which was more than what he originally listed it for.

 

How did that happen that you paid more than the asking price, since you drove down to pick it up so there weren't any shipping charges?

 

I offered him over the asking price because I wanted to get it that weekend, plus a case of beer (I work for an alcohol manufacturer) and drove to NYC. When I couldn't get the case of beer at the office, I put in the equal retail cost of a case. Given what I paid for tolls and gas, plus the beer and cash, I would expect that at $850 I would be breaking even.

 

Knowing what I now know, I wish I had initially posted my catback up for 900.00. When I made the sale thread the posted price was 650, due to the level of interest, I knew I was selling myself short and adjusted the price to 750. I still had a ton of interest but didn't want to scare of potential buyers with repeat price increases and I left it at that. Kahta bought the catback. He drove from MA to NYC and back, he also paid for the installation and removal (2x), so I don't consider that as profiting $100. And that's if he sells it for that much AZ'ers in BM are hardcore hagglers. If anything he's down 200 for his time & effort.

Ron- Sorry to be such a bother, but can you please close/delete this? I had some big resonators installed today and it reduced the noise by about 75%, so I'm going to keep it.
