i know some of you guys on here have upgraded to aftermarket wheels or other ones so I'm trying to get a wheel in good cosmetic and working condition. Im working with a 1998 3.0 CL and would prefer that year, though I think the 99 works too (anyone know about airbag compatability etc?) I understand the 97 is different as the horn is on the actual wheel itself and not the center / airbag so i don't know if that would work @ all.

can anyone point me to a guide etc that will say what steering wheels are interchangeable from other years / models?

dragon084 just pointed you with the link. Here's another link that takes you to the page where you enter the info. Just start looking and you can find out for yourself. I would do it for you but there are so many different CL models for each year, so you can go there and get the info first hand.

ok i follow. well fyi the exact steering wheel (by part number) that is on the 98 CL doesn't come on anything but a 98 or 99 CL. BUT according to www.acuraoemparts.com the driver's airbag is the exact same part on the following models:

CL (99,01,02)
TL (99,00,01)
MDX(01,02)

and considering I've heard of someone using the 01 wood MDX wheel, I'd say these are interchangeable wheel models. The only problem I'm having now is matching airbag SRS Units (called airbag modules by the layman). I see multiple part numbers for each model year and virtually no repeats :-( anyone have info on how to get your own reset?

You would be much better off posting your steering wheel interchangeability question in the CL forums where the experts are. We need to cut down the posts on what fits what in this thread, unless we get one positive post that you would believe.

It's already been stated that the horn button connection is different in the 97 than the 98-99, and this would probably be your biggest problem because if the harness doesn't match up you would have to toot your own horn, so to speak.
