i have one...it came i off a 2000 TLP...im 100% positive that the ballast and ignitor work and will work on ur CL....i do know that the CL and TL havediff shaped ballasts tho...i dont know if that mattered to u...but i have one for sale for 100+shipping thnx

 

im aware the ballasts are the same just the box is smaller for the tl i just wasnt sure if it uses the same bulb cause i just bought excelerates 8500k bulbs didnt want them to goto waste..also would you happen to know if the mounting holes for the cl ballast are in the same place as the tl so i can just swap it w no drilling? and 1 more thing, is the power output/light output going to be the same? wouldnt want both headlights looking different. if all is good ill buy em ASAP just let me kno the total n where to send the paypal payment it will be sent today. thanks a bunch!

 

as for the mounting holes i am not sure if they are the same...as for the bulbs any D2R, D2C, or D2S bulbs will fit and as for the light output all of that is teh same as any other acura vehicle with HIDs as well...so if u dnt mind finding out if they mount up the same or if u wanna jus drill new holes my paypal is bluelancehawkins@yahoo.com lemmeknow!

 

The ballast from a TL (any TL, year dont matter) Would NOT fit the CL. You can some how hot wire it to run the headlight but it wouldnt be a direct bolt on to the underside of the headlight.

 

the plugs are the same but the bolts and size are not...thats the only diff

And thats the most crucial difference, unless he wants the ballast to be dangling on the side of the headlight and a hole in the underside of the headlight he should just look for the CL ballast rather than trying to fit the TL onto the CL headlight.

 

this is the 2001 TLP ballast and ignitor he will be getting, and he knows that they will not bolt up directly but work jus the same as any other ballast/ignitor fro Acura TSX/CL/TL...i dont thnk he minds the difference

 

i dont mind if it doesnt fit properly, in fact in the pic i can see the mounting holes (doesnt have to be exact) and its not like anyone looks under ur bumper to say "hey your ballast is hanging out" if thats the case ill just fashon some tighty whities for it - AKA zipties. i just want the damn thing to work and this ballast is actually cheaper and easier to find than my CL version. ill let u guys kno and possibly take pics of what i did to let u kno how it turned out. i also gotta paint my bumper in the process.

 

hey i got the ballast/ignitor and i plugged in everything and it works. But for some reason theres a buzzing noise coming out of it (as my orig one remains silent) is the TL one you gave me supposed to do that or is it supposed to be slilent and this is a problem? please let me know cause if something is wrong with it i would wanna exchange it with one of the others that you have (oboviously if any of the others dont buzz) please let me know and anyone else reading this thread let me know if the stock TL ballast/ignitors emit a buzzing noise as well. thanks

 

^^ THey all make a buzzing noise, some make more some make less .

 

yea but this one makes a much louder buzz that you can hear from outside the engine bay while the hood is closed..but hey if i get the assurance that theres nothing wrong with it im good
