Cool SOLD! FS: DC Sports 4-2-1 Ceramic Header TSX

DC Sports 4-2-1 Ceramic Header TSX

Used Header. Was on the car from Feb08-May2. It developed a loud hiss about 2 months after installing it. The problem is most likely due to the poor flexpipe design. You can cut the flex pipe out and get a new, stronger one welded in for under 100$. I didnt feel like fixing it, and got the comptech instead.

Header is the complete two piece unit, no gaskets are included.

the price, theoretically is great. I think it's just the fact that the DC headers require so much work, you know? I'd get these if I decide not to get coilovers. Good luck on the sale.

When were these headers made by DC? Ive read they've recently made a lot of welding improvements to their headers. Was the hissing really *that* bad, or was it like the traditional hissing that headers provide?

LOTS and I mean millions of articles have discussed your question, its due to a poor flex-pipe design they have changed the design since and have included a new mesh layer inside as well as outside which reduces the noise considerably, however as 925tsx has discussed you can cut out the flex-pipe and get a new one installed, which will reduce your hissing sound + increase hp.

bump.

bump?

Anyway, I've also read a lot regarding the flex-pipe issue, and I've planned for that to be done. My concern, however, were literally the welds. I've read a couple occassions of the welds literally *breaking* under the stress of driving, and cracked welds are a bigger concern than replacing a flex pipe in my opinion. Point being, one problem requires me to reweld the welds, the other problem requires a new/stronger flex pipe, i just wanted to make sure the flexpipe was the only concern

So no idea as to when this particular header was made? Did you recently buy it or get it off someone before you?

I bought it 5 months ago.
it was on the car for 3 months.
i bought it brand new.

It is a 100% version 2 header. Supposedly the "fixed" one. Fact is, DC still didnt get it quite right.
