SOLD! F/S Dell Inspiron 5100 2.66Ghz P4 Ht 512mb ram 30g HD extra clean
For sale is a Dell inspiron 5100 with a 2.66 Ghz Pentium 4 HT, 512 MB ram, and the 30gig HD. I have had this computer for about 2 years and it has served me well. The only problem it has EVER had was my fault... I downloaded a virus that was in a media file and I had to reinstall windows. Everything else has worked flawlessly. The reason I am selling is because I just upgraded to a 17" widescreen dell E1705. I recently had the computer checked up by a professional IT person who is a computer whiz. Everything is in excellent condition. The outside, screen, keyboard, and all functional parts of the unit all look brand new. This notebook has never been abused or dropped. No damage whatsoever. A few months ago I upgraded the ram to 256mb. IT is upgradeable to 1.5Gb, and uses PC 2100 200 pin ram cards, of which 512mb units can be purchased on the internet for about $50.

I know $450 is high for a 2 year old notebook, but this one has the Pentium 4 HT... not a celeron, celeron M, centrino, or pentium M. The P4 is superior to all of those and is worth the extra money over a sub 2ghz celeron or even a core solo. This unit was $1350 new... not $500 like the stuff you can get today. Also, If you want to upgrade to the DVD burner, parts can be purchased from dell for a pretty good price. I would have done it If I had not bought a new notebook. The price is NEGOTIABLE.
