We used to hire hit men but with the economy now we can't even do that.

Banning is our only weapon, and I'm waiting for him to post something. If that doesn't happen soon I'll start with a PM, then comes an email, and then comes the you know what.

It all depends on what he says in his defense and how cooperative he is.

karma will catch up with him at some point in his life...

debating whether to use the damn things are take a loss and sell them locally on craigslist at start over. I think I could get $250-300 locally...then I just tell myself I lost the rest at the casino or strip club...and I rarely go to either place...haha.

another innocent scammed. i feel ya fatcat. been scammed so i know how that feels. hopefully things are sorted out, but things don't usually turn out the way we want it to. if the scammers were honest people like that in the first place, things like this wouldn't even happen. best of luck!

No untruths were told and the buyer had ample opportunity to turn down the sale when I had received the shipping quote which was surprisingly more than I had anticipated. he received exactly what I posted... painted black stock wheels with tires and center caps

There was no "scam" I barely made 320$ on a set of perfectly fine rims and tires. Jesus

Also I don't know what any of you do all day but some people have things in their lives other than playing on a forum. From trying to get my car fixed from a hit and run a while back to final exams for my enterance acceptance to the business college and a job and now holiday traveling back home I am very busy. I apologize for not tending to my thread you all. Lol

Mod....you can close this thread. Thanks.

The pictures I posted say otherwise and a more accurate description would have been to say "My buddy just took some spray paint and painted them while the tire was still on them". I'm curious what was sanded...the pock marks shown on the pics I posted are contrary to what you posted. Also, the tires are pretty much garbage, one is almost bald...I'm getting rid of them anyway, the point is you didn't accurately describe what it was that you were selling.

You say no untruths(lol you mean lies? or false information) were told...but you chose to leave information out which affects the sale. From what I read from the thread so far, the buyer DIDN'T have ample opportunity to turn down the sale when you received the shipping quote, because at that point, he already sent you the $450...unless I'm mistaken from what's been said.
And you agreeing to $450 shipped BEFORE you knew the shipping quote is YOUR responsibility and the buyer shouldn't suddenly have to pay an extra $100 or so after the deal was already agreed upon. He did receive the items you posted for sale, but not in the conditioned expected to be in, unless the buyer missed that info.

There was no intentional "scam". But under the circumstances of the situation, the outcome of the transaction says otherwise. The amount of money you made is irrelevant. The initial $450 was agreed upon and that should have been the final asking price regardless of the shipping cost that you later found out, which is again, your fault. So, though unintentional, essentially it was an unsuccessful sale that was made.

And I don't even know why you bring up what "any of you do all day" because it's completely irrelevant, but I'm almost certain everybody in this forum has at least a job, goes to school, or does both and support their families. We definitely have "things" to do all day.
People aren't on this forum to "play". This thread is for Acura enthusiasts and Acura owners who can contribute to an online community of fellow Acura enthusiasts and owners by posting questions, answering questions, sharing information, opinions, etc. If that's your definition of "playing on a forum" then yes, most of us are here to "play".
Also your life story and talking about how "busy" you are is unnecessary because they're again, irrelevant to the issue at hand nor is anybody curious.
The excuses you might come up for "not being able to tend to your thread" is not important.
I'm positive that the only thing that us fellow Aziners want is just for any misunderstandings to be cleared up and any issues from the transaction to be solved. There are many of us that suffer from misunderstandings/miscommunication that happen through both honest and dishonest online transactions. I for one wish to not see any "scams" or sales that take place that leave the buyer unhappy or unsatisfied.

And that's why I haven't closed the thread yet.

About the shipping costs, what most people would do, and many have done, is to offer to split the extra costs since it was due to their own lack of information, not ask for the full amount.

Also, DRS25 said
I barely made 320$ on a set of perfectly fine rims and tires. Jesus
But thefatcat says he paid $561, which either means shipping cost $241(not likely) or someone can't do math. And these don't seem to be

the money was received through PAYPAL and i didnt request a check until well after the wheels were shipped. He could have easily been refunded if he did not want to go through with the sale when i was explaining the shipping quote i had gotten. I even said on the phone the shipping was much higher than i had anticipated and i could refund the entire amount if he didnt want to pay for the extra shipping. The original amount i received was 450$ but upon discovering the shipping cost i called him and said i could REFUND 100$ and he pay the shipping or we could scratch the whole sale. i wasnt eager to haul these things around to a post office anyway, i wanted to sell them locally (and to my frustration i received a call from someone on craigslist who had come to look at them the week before and decided they wanted to pick them up for 450$... two days after I shipped them out). He agreed to accept a 100$ refund from my paypal (making the total amount to me 350$) and pay the shipping company directly over the phone with his credit card. After getting whacked with the paypal fee and check request fee i ended up getting something around three hundred and twenty something dollars. I would have been more than happy to refund the money from the start, my intensions were to be compliant with whatever the buyer wanted to do, and he agreed to the shipping price. I was completely transparent with my intensions and i never said the rims were in PERFECT condition, there was that small issue on the corner of ONE of the wheels, other than that nothing wrong. I never said they were powder coated nor professionally painted, all i said was a friend of mine did it. the picture i posted is exactly what they look like, not enhanced to adjusted in any way. I really am sorry if thefatcat feels wronged by me because that is nothing i would ever want from anyone, especially a member of this forum which i get so much valuable information and feedback from.

It's time to close this thread. We have all the information and comments we need.

I'm sorry thefatcat was dissatisfied with his first purchase here, and sorry that DRS25 wasn't more careful in determining shipping costs, but the unsatisfactory results were more from being new to the buying game and not taking a little more effort in the selling game.

I guess I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't ask buyers to be more careful and think before agreeing to additional charges and sellers to compute shipping costs more carefully, which most do, and to at least offer to split the difference, which also most do.
