1) What does it do? Is it just cosmetic or does it serve some purpose.

2) How easy is it to install

3) Would it fit on a First Gen car? (98 Cl?)

1) It greatly reduces wind noise when the sunroof is open and it looks good too.

2) Installation is easy, clean your roof and two screws

3) I don't think it would fit the 98CL bcs on www.acura-tl.com they sell a different model for the older CL.

what does near mint condition mean? what would take away from it being mint?

There are no perforations in the rubber, no visible scratches on the visor, and no rust on the screws. The structure is not warped in any way.

I dunno what else I can tell you except that it's what you would expect a lightly used but not damaged moonroof visor to look like.
