FS: Laptop
I'm looking to sell my dell latitude C800.
P3 850mhz
15" SXGA monitor (replaced in dec. 2003)
384 MB RAM
20 GB HDD (replaced in jan. 2004)
DVD-ROM drive (replaced in dec. 2003)
Superdisk drive
Docking station included with built in ethernet card.
EXTRAS
Microsoft Wireless 802.11g/b PCMCIA card
USB 2.0 PCMCIA card
48X external CD-RW drive
Warranty still good until 4/2/2004 w/ Overnight + on site Dell Support (they send everything to you overnight and can have a person come on site to install it or you can send it to them overnight at their cost and back to you overnight as well.)
It just had the LCD screen replaced for dead pixels, the keyboard and both mice (eraser ball and touchpoint) for an unresponsive touchpoint, the DVD drive got replaced b/c when they replaced the keyboard it stopped working, the front and back plastics were both replaced with the keyboard to align it all correctly, and the hard drive is brand new and just got installed yesterday because the old one went out. Everything has been replaced basically in the last 2 months.
I'm not sure how much used laptops are going for but I want to sell this one and maybe buy a smaller laptop for school. This was my desktop replacement for about 2 years and I have another desktop now.
Somebody at least tell me how much something like this is worth so I might ebay it or sell it to another ACLer.

I suppose that's not a bad offer at $650.
I think I'm looking for more around $850.00 b/c it's got a lot of goodies and a warranty that's still effective not to mention most of the laptop is brand new from Dell's support people.
So if someone wants this setup for $850.00 let me know. Thanks for the offer though kevin79925...

it would still go for $500ish....extras only add a small amount of what they're worth since people tend to look for the unit alone, then find the extras by themselves. I think the warranty is only under your name, so if you selli t off, the warranty voids itself to the new user.

good luck with the sale...i was trying to offload my IBM Thinkpad (which usually carries a higher premium than the equivalent Dell/Compaq/Gateway/Etc) - almost exactly the same specs. couldn't even get $650 for it. i agree with the notion of selling the accessories by themselves, you'll get much more $$$ for them.
i'm sure you can get close to $600 for just the laptop, and then sell the extras for at least $100 separately. not trying to rain on your parade, but just wanted to let you know of my attempt.

I just bought a brand new Dell Inspiron 8500 (New in box). P4 2.5, DVD-RW, Wireless G, 60gb HD, 512 ram, 3 year warranty, 15.4" UXGA+ (1920x1200), etc etc for 1200, to give you an idea. so 800 is really too much. but good luck.

ok thanks guys... that's about enough of your bashing...
if anyone has anything shitty to say about my sale please keep it to yourself...
I'll lower the price to $775.00 but that's about as low as I can go. I need enough money to take an MCAT prep course.
