Bought it at this auction and, despite my poking around and thinking I read "Acura shift knob is an Acura shift knob," it doesn't fit my 1st gen TL. So, it's up for sale. All I'm looking to do is to recoup my costs: $30 shipped/obo to the U.S.. It's a beautiful piece, I just want it to go to a good home.

will it fit my 99 tl

 

If it fits the 00-03 TL, it will NOT fit the 99. They have different shaft thicknesses. The 99 TL is thicker.

 

yeah, the only way it'll fit is if you drill into the hole of the knob.

 

shoot - forgot all about this post! Buyer hooked me up with an adapter, so it's in my car! What everyone has said is correct, the shaft is different. The adapter is a nylon bushing that matches up the differing diameters and using set screws into the nylon.
