FS 2004 TL - 6 Speed Abyss Blue / Camel

Testing the waters - people will probably ask, so here is the reason - my family has extensive medical bills ($41,000) due to an "out-of-network" operation for my son.

Anyway,

I bought the car at the end of February this year. The car is almost flawless, one little 1/4" light scratch on the trunk lid. The Brembos do squeal sometimes - dealer assures me a fix is in development.

The car has ~6200 miles. I changed the oil once at 1656 miles and then had the dealer peform the A1 service at 5500 miles. I have the regular and all-weather floormats.

Clear title (no lein). If you like REM, your more than welcome to my Document DVD-A.

$28,700; car is located in the DC/Baltimore area.

If there is any interest, I'll shoot some pictures.

Send some photos to Mikeag60@optonline.net
Any chance you would consider delivering the car to NY ?

I'll get some pics ASAP. My only concern is driving up and then having the deal fall through. If your serious, I would consider delivering the car.

He is asking $28,700. That is a steel. I would go for it, but I don't need a new car. Pay em what he's asking. If not he's better off going to Carmax. They will give him 400 less the KBB for it. On KBB it worth $33,700. Sorry to hear about your son, hope he is doing better.

These photos were taken this morning at work (from the time stamp on the pics, 1 is September 1st). Not much room to negotiate, I started fairly aggressive.

Thanks for the kind words, my little boy is doing great. Just like deciding to by the TL, we did our homework and went to the best place.

KBB: $30,430 for Private-Party Sale - no risk, its still under warranty.

I am not trying to be a dick especially due to your circumstances but I just got back from 2 local Acura dealers and they both are very willing to sell new '04's for $100 LESS than invoice which comes out to $30,200. Essentially I need to decide if it worth saving $1,500 for a used TL, albeit in pefect condition but not exactly the interior color I would want and a higher intrest rate due to it being a used car.

Absolutely no offense taken. Never let the seller's circumstances influence your the decisions you take. I have a little flexibility but not much. To be honest, you should probably buy new and establish a rapport with your dealer. I doubt I can go low enough to make it worth your time and effort. If you have any questions, drop me a PM or e-mail to dfwoody@hotmail.com.

Cheers,

Don

I have a good rapport with the dealer allready because my wife has an MDX and had an '01 TL which we purchased an serviced their. The thing is I hate buying new cars and would much rather save a few thousand and buy your car as long as you could drive the car to me and come down a bit on the price. By the look of the photos the car appears to be about as close to showroom as you can get.

Anything I would need to know about the car ? Any damage, paintwork, accident etc etc. ?

No shady happenings whatsoever. If your serious and a deal, perhaps having a forum member local to my area come by and provide and independant review of the car would give you peice of mind?

I am local to Columbia, MD and also to the NYC area if either of you guys need my assistance. I travel every 2 weeks to both spots and would help if you need someone to look at the car.
On a side note, KillroyR1 does the R1 imply a bike?

I appreciate the help but by the looks of the photos the car appears to be in excellent condition. I am not too critical so if their is a scratch here or their it is not a big deal.

Yep, this one.

Unfortunately, at a track day last year somebody lost control and crashed into me from behind and broke my tibia and fibula at the ankle. I'm just about back to 100%. I ended up getting the bike fixed and sold it. Now, I'm down to one, a Kawasaki ZRX-1200 - but that's going up for sale soon.

Michael, let me know what kind of price you are looking for and we can see if this transaction is worth pursuing.

Best,

Don

You have one beautifull car...it's so obvious you've taken care of the car. Sorry to hear about your son, and I hope everything turns out well. I'm not in the market for the car, but I just had to say something about how clean your car was kept. I hope everything turns out Ok with the medical stuff...and good luck selling your car....it's really well maintained.....and it must be really hard to part with something you cared for so much...but your son's health is more important.....let us know how he does with his medical treatment....GOOD LUCK!!

We worked out an arrangement between our Health Insurance company and the out-of -network hospital and we're keeping the TL.

My little boy is doing great - as you can see, he's all smiles.

Thanks for help/kind words. We decided we loose too much giving up the car now.

Thanks,

Don
