Does this help with aerodynamics at all?

Not a lick, (unless you're going 300mph), And why would you want downforce on a front wheel drive car?

If anything, it will cause MORE turbulence to airflow.

It's purely cosmetic.

Downforce is a good thing, no matter what wheels are powered. Cars wth roof rack fairings achieve better fuel mileage, so I was curious if this had the same effect.

There would be no real fule milage change in our cars with aero adjustments like the above or the spoiler. as the redirected air, the speeds and way we drive is not enough drag resistance to make a difference in fule mileage. If some one is stating this on a product or web site it is BS.

Many years of doing engineering and looking over aero specs from race cars for term papers to prove it.
