So is it even worth it if it just kills the tranny faster? Does the accord trans bolt right in and it is way better?

 

I probably wouldnt go turbo on an acura automatic myself. As for a replacement for the cl tranny, there is a thread here already on it. Is it the same for an 03 TL?

 

The 03 tl has the same tranny issues as the 01-03 cl and the 04-06 tl does also i believe.

 

So if one was to put an 07 TL tranny in an 03 TL and the turbo wouldnt be THAT much of a problem then right?

 

i think the trans might get in the way of the down pipe. the 6spd trans is sooo much more smaller

 

Sounds like alot more than just putting in the turbo cause you gotta deal with the trans which means more work and more money.

 

it will clear 6spd trans. not sure about the autos. might be as simple as making a taller downpipe to go over the trans

 

it would be either a smaller diameter pipe, ovaling the pipe, or spliting it into 2 pipes then rejoining them once it is past the tranny

07 tranny is basically the same size (if not exactly), so you are going to run into the exact same issue currently

 

^agree, and the bell housing on some 07 tl trans is diff

This kit is a modded 6th gen Accord kit, which means it was originally intended for use in an automatic equipped Accord. Whether or not it will still clear an auto tranny, I dont know. If it wont, its not difficult to work around. Its just piping.

This is very enticing, any good shops in the minnesota area that could do the install.

 

You could install it in a day yourself. Its like installing headers and an intake, just......longer
