Borrowing the following info from sharksbreath
these are great for those going to back to stock, those who have damaged cats, or those who want to upgrade from base TL cat converters. lower cell count means less restrictive/increased flow/more power.
base TL converters have a 900 cell count.
TL type s converters have a 600 cell count.
hi flow converters have a 300 cell count.
^so as you can see, the type s converters are right in the middle.
Thanks and PM me with any offers or questions! My zip is 27705 if you want to try to manage shipping quotes. Heres a paypal fee calculator aswell http://thefeecalculator.com/.
PICS!

dang brother...you shoulda kept that exhaust intact, someone would have bought the whole thing for double that.
GLWS though!
I'm guessing the lost hardware might be related to the work being done in the yard and the grass wasn't cut? LOL>

Kindly educate me, The j pipe does it come stock on my car ? I saw a diagram but it seemed the j pipe was off on the side. If it does come stock is it at the end by the cat converter ? Thanks again

yes...jpipe comes stock on the car. it goes from the primaries to the catback. it has a 3rd rear catalytic. some aftermarket jpipes create more hp and some eliminate the rear cat altogether.
the type s jpipe (or rear cat, really) has a lower cell count and will flow better. the jpipe alone is any different between models.

Couldn't have explained it better you r the man rockstar
Engine--->primary cats--->jpipe--->3rd cat (no 02 sensor)--->cat back exhaust(mid pipe, mid muffler, mufflers)
That's pretty the whole TL exhaust system
Hope that helps

I know it, I guess my point was to just make a package deal for all 3 high flow cats for someone and give up on the jpipe since i'm almost positive it's identical for all of our years...same bends, same flow etc. In which case, it might not be needed/wanted and would cost you a bunch to ship.

i could do like $200 for all 3 cats plus shipping and paypal fees. hella cheaper then buying high flows for like $500+

i would assume the exhaust system is the same, only difference is the cats and mufflers but im not 100% positive. i dont know why acura would change the whole exhaust system over .3L engine displacement, but at the same time i didnt know the cats on a TLS were different from a base TL until doing research on selling them.

So we know for certain that on top of the mufflers being different the cats are also different. Is the j-pipe different? And is the difference in the air flow? size?

I guess you already explained the difference in the add:
base TL converters have a 900 cell count.
TL type s converters have a 600 cell count.
hi flow converters have a 300 cell count.

I bought the Pcats, from the thread I understood that the bolts and possibly the nuts are missing to put on the shield.
I got the Pcats and that is the case for one of them, which I am ok with.
One of the Pcats is missing 2 bolts at the base. That part was not disclosed. Those are the most critical bolts.
I tried to find replacement bolts for these, but the way the cat is curved, a bolt can't be slipped in. It doesn't seem possible that the OEM bolts can be removed either because the cat is curved. The only way to get the OEM bolts out that I can think of is to cut the bolts off.
Here is a pic of the 1 OEM bolt left on the cat.
The way it fits, there is no way to remove it short of cutting the bolt off.
Here is one I tried to fit in on the 2nd hole.
The welded bracket blocks the nut, but it's not just an issue of the head not clearing the weld. The bolt is so angled that it can't go through the hole even if it cleared the weld.
Here is a pic from the other side.
Same issue with the last remaining hole that needs a new bolt.
I think I'm going to need a refund.

I am more then happy to give you a refund if we cant find a solution or even if we do find a solution as soon as the package is shipped back in the exact way i sent it out.
Its labor day tom i will try to get in touch with a friend of mine and see if we can figure out the problem. I hope you are using OEM replacement bolts or you could even talk to a tech at acura and see if he can help you out until shops open back up on tuesday. i know with 100000% certainty he didnt cut anything off.
Its the front primary cat and the side that is bolting into the jpipe that giving you the issue. I will do the best i can to figure it out or like i said i will refund as soon as i receive the cats back.

btw since it is labor day tom my best idea would be to take the bolts and cat to the nearest acura dealer and just see what they say, might be quicker then waiting til i talk to the guy who helped me install it on tuesday. They could recommend something. HTH

Best we wait until Bruce takes them to someone who knows how to install them and see what they say about this.

Not sure what your implying with that but i hope its not i tried to rip you off. if you scroll up and look at the pictures you can clearly see theres only 1 stud in the cat and 2 arent there. didnt think i needed to also type it out as well.

I would like to find a solution to this and I appreciate that a refund is an option.
I posted here, so members who have a solution can also chime in and maybe we'll find a fix.
Looking at the cat, I can't see how those bolts could have slid out, the curvature and welds block the bolts from coming off. I can't think of a reason why a technician would remove those bolts to take out the pcat. Taking out the nuts from underneath would have done it.
I think the service department is closed at the dealer tomorrow, so I can try to show it to the dealer Tuesday.
