When is the XT/XTi due for an update?

I was just curious since it seems that Canon releases new P&S camera's every 6 months or so to replace their existing line. How long has it been for the XT and XTi? Would it be wise to buy one now or am I getting technology that is a couple of years old?

My XT takes great pictures now and still will in 10 years. I'll have a smaller viewing screen and not as many fps, but for what I use it for it works. Since I'm a weekend photographer if that, I started with an XT, then started building my lens collection. I'll move up to a newer body (40D or something) in a couple years, but an XT or XTi will do fine if your on a budget.

I agree. I just got my XT in February and I think it'll serve me well into the future. In a few years, maybe I'll upgrade to a full body. For now, the XT works fine for me.
