Some evening desert photos

Went out looking for some cactus flower shots but I may have missed the blooms by a day...

Incredible. Nature can really put things into perspective, if you take the time out to appreciate it.

Nice set! The blues in the first are killer. Looks like an amazing place to shoot - I'm jealous.

Thanks guys. The moon is tough since it's hard to get the exposure right for both the moon and the other items in the frame. Trying to work on it, though, without adding any light to the scene with flash. Dusk and even pre-dusk is key otherwise I get WAY too much difference in the metering and either the moon is blown or the foreground is too dark (as I am seeing it to be in the last shot).

what camera are you using. I cant wait to get mine after xmas so I can take some pics of the guadalupe mtns and some other desert shots over here. Although we don't have cacti like that here we have some nice wide open desert shots.

And nothing beats a calm desert sunset.
