Any recommendations on a good lens for my XTi? One that won't break the bank?

That's kind of like asking is there a good mod for my car. What are you looking to shoot?

For a good general walk-around lens, I'm coveting the EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 IS. I currently have the EF-S 17-85 as my walk-around; and it's definitely not a bad lens, but it has a bit too much edge distortion at the wider end for my taste. It is, however, much less expensive, and still a more than decent lens.

Of course, if you shoot primarily landscapes, or want to shoot wildlife, portraits, macros, etc., that changes things...

It narrows the price gap between the two to only around $450 though....

That would only be 11 plasma donations, or 68 trips to the sperm bank. No, I haven't given this any thought or anything....

The reabtes are for just about any Sandisk Memory, take a look at the reabte form on that page.

Not sure if I need anymore, but tempted get a couple 8gigs at those prices.

I find I fill them up too fast (I shoot RAW and Large jpeg), 8gbs is about the biggest I'll try. Don't want to many eggs in one basket.

Wow, RAW plus large JPG. :wow: I will now have 2x4GB and 2x2GB for my week in Mexico... Should be enough, as I am bringing a laptop to offload to each night...
