Can any of you guys recommend a decent camcorder to me? I am looking at some at Best Buy, but don't know which one I should get. I like the ones that have the hard drives in them and also the ones that can carry an SD card. But aside from that, not very knowledgeable about these things.... let me know what you guys have or use. Also, not looking to spend a whole lot of money, maybe $500 give or take a hundred.... thanks in advance.

 

You could just get a D90 when they come out.

Screw BestBuy, take a look at amazon.com see what's selling the best and read the comments from those that own the model. I'd say Sony and Canon are going to be at the top of that list. You really can't go wrong with camcorders now.

The big thing is to stay away from the ones that use disc, CD, DVD's etc. The miniDV is still a good source. But the main choice now are HardDrive base or Flash memory. With the HD you have to hook your camera up to your computer with flash you just need a reader. If I was to buy a new camcorder now, it would be flash based. I have a miniDV and a HiDef Hard Drive based currently.
