Pure Street Photo

Well, I just picked up an Acura TL last night and figured the best way to learn all about it was to join a forum. Glad to see you guys have a nice photography section as I'm an automotive photographer. here's some past work, hope you guys like it.

Welcome!

What part of Phx are you in?

What do you typically use for lighting for an outdoor photoshoot?

Welcome!

Awesome shots. I wish I knew how to take pictures that were half as good as those.

Welcome, you have some very nice photos! There are a few in here that also have a nice portfolio of auto photos, as I'm sure you will soon learn. I look forward to seeing more of your photos in the future!

I'm in North Phoenix. and I just use speedlights for lighting. All those lighting shots were done with my old Sony A200, a Sigma 10-20mm, and two Sony Speedlights.

I currently made the switch to a Nikon D7000 and currently only have an 18-105, 80-200f2.8, and an SB600. I probably won't be doing much individual car shooting until i get a new wide angle. Looking to pickup the TOkina 12-24mm f4 here soon. As for right now, I'm just shooting events with the fast zoom.

thanks, that pic was REALLY hard to take. It's actually a composite. I had to get the window blur, the rpm needle, and then the lit interior in 3 different shots. it was worth it though as that pic seems to be a crowd favorite.

thanks again. and the TL is pretty boring right now. it's 100% stock. It will be getting axis wheels, an a-spec lip kit, and trunk and roof spoilers. hopefully all within the next couple of months.

yeah, a good prime goes a long ways. usually pretty cheap and typically very sharp/fast as well.

and if anyone cares, I'm taking the TL to LA this weekend for XDC (xtreme drift circuit) at Toyota Speedway in Irwindale. Leaving friday night and coming back Sunday evening.
