i can't get a shutter count from my cam...

i estimate its around 200k tho.

yeah, its rated at around 100k. I've heard manufacturers rate them low so users feel like they need a new camera around that certain point, even if theirs has a lot more life in it. but I'm not sure on that.

no idea how much on my 20D, its low though. It was a backup unit for a local pro, when I bought it after being inspired by this forum I quickly was overwhelmed at the time trying to learn it and put it away for a year or so before pulling it back out

lots of exif viewers should display the count. You can get to it from within photoshop, I posted about CS4 earlier.
