OK, and one from the novice: This is a view of Mt. Katahdin (obscured by heavy fog & clouds) inside Baxter State Park in Maine.

I'm a little humble as I've just started doing this whole photography thing about a year ago and am trying to learn as much as I can.. Thanks for the comments. The mountain is just outside the Juneau Airport. I forget the name of the mountain now that you ask about it, but I'm sure I can look it up when I have time.

Off to go camping for a couple of days.......

Very nice shots! I love lighthouses. The horizon in the second one can be straightened with software, though you'd have to crop some of it out. Beautiful sunset.

Good ones.

I cant really put a finger on it to why I really like this shot but I think I am going to order it in a good print and get it framed.

Ahhhh! ^Those pics so make me want to go back to AB and BC!!! What towns/cities did you see on that vacation, sauceman? I flew to Calgary, drove to Banff (stayed a few nights), then a day stop in Lake Louise on our way to Jasper National Park, where we stayed right in a cabin on a river in the moutains for a few nights. Then a day trip to the town of Jasper on our way to Kamloops. Stayed in Kamloops overnight (stayed in the old courthouse --> converted to a hostel....super cool!!), and then drove to Vancouver where we spent 5 nights...then flew home. I LOVED Banff and Jasper National Parks!!! I'd go back in a heartbeat!! I saw a lot of what you photographed, plus more.

P.S. Kamloops itself sucks!!

Here's one of the photos I took in Jasper National Park...this is right where we stayed. The cabin was about fifty feet behind me when I took this pic. Loved it.

Sorry for the poor quality.

SS, we flew to Edmonton, drove to Jasper, stuck around and visited Maligne Canyon, Lake and Medicine Lake on the way there, climbed part of Mt Robson, Columbia Icefields, and other things to see on 93, stayed in Golden for 1 week, visited Banff, Moraine Lake, climbed Sulfur Mt, plus a bunch of other "must stop and see places", visited Radium Hot Springs, played golf there too, drove back to Calgary, then Edmonton, visited friends there then flew back.

I know I'll have to get back there. I'd also absolutely love to visit Yellowstone.

I present to you
ANOTHER CACTUS!

Anywho I actually had some that were quite a bit better, but in stroke of genious I neglected to tell the people doing the slide processing that I had changed the roll half way through.

Anywho now I have a bunch of great pictures of a arizona sunset with a cactus or two siloetted against it that are cut in half and mounted in slide holders.
