Mine came out pretty bad so no worth putting on this forum but I want to learn what y'all have and how you set your camera. I have read one of the posts in this forum and have learned a lot. I guess experience really counts in getting this skill sets.

Yea, Fort Meade. Got there late this year, not until after 8PM. Show started at 9:30. We got a spot right in front of the launch area, about 150 yards away. Not much of a breeze, so there was a lot of smoke hanging around.

I was lazy and didn't go out (after being outside for much longer than I'm accustomed to during the day) - but managed to get some shots of the distant shows from home - these are all with the 200mm

Nice shots guys. Here are some newbie questions. When I zoomed out to the max, I could set the focus point to infinity. However, when I tried to zoom in, "focus to infinity" will give me blurry images. I set my lens to manual focus. Any tips to address this? Also, how long do you keep your shutter open?

1/40, f/3.2, ISO 100, -2ev

1/20, f/2.8, ISO 500, -1ev

Focus point was the monument for all 3.

Here are some of mine. This was from a private show for the neighborhood at my girlfriend's parents. It was tough to capture because they were directly overhead.
