Need some help for some lens advice.
I'm going to California in June to take pictures for my girlfriend's Graduation, and it's going to be on their Football Field (Fancy, I know.)
But regardless, I need to know if there are any good recommendations on lens that get nice pictures from the bleachers to the field.
I was thinking of the Nikon 70-200mm Lens, but then again $1,3-1,4k is a bit steep for me right now. The purchase will be in a couple of months, but still need some advice on what should be sufficient, and what would be an overkill.

Thanks Dan, a great alternative to the purchase. I might even buy it tonight!

Too bad you have Nik0n, I could give you a good deal on a 70-200 2.8.

Wow, I'm very excited to get this then haha

Did you get the 85 1.2 yet? I'm still jealous of that one...
I hope to get the 85 1.8 soon, and I'm going to start saving for a 35 1.4 this year. I don't know when, but I'll get the 85 1.2 on the radar sometime down the road.

Yes, I did get it. I was going to go around with it yesterday but weather is not too nice right now. That thing is a tank, I had never seen it in person before. No one around here ever had in stock when I was trying to see it. It is going to take awhile to get use to it. Especially the focus ring.

People will definitely take you seriously when you take their portraits with it though.

Prior to the f/1.0 they did have an FD 50mm f/0.95 also.

Not when it's on a 5D.

I gotcha, but on the 1.6 it's like a 135 which is another great lens.

main reason I posted the pic was not to show that it was attached to a 30D, but to show the ridiculous opening of the lens!!!
ps. jupe has a 5D too
