awesome
My buddy who is a pilot flies around nyc all the time and has asked me to come along the next time he rents a plane.
I am surprised anyone can go and fly around nyc without going through a lot of paper work.

Well he was a NYPD Pilot for years so he's used to chasing the bad guys through the streets.
Next time I go up I'm going to need a zoom lens that stabilizes maybe I'll rent one or something. Nothing too extreme of a zoom but something with enough pull to get me that perfect shot.
hey guys,
I'm working on some of the shots it was my first time up there so they're amateur at best but here are some quick ones. There is no better sightseeing/photography helicopter than a Bell.

Remember MASH? Oh yeah.

Here's my buddy sweeping in to a turn over Staten Island showing me some houses.

Ground Zero Reconstruction.

Remember in the Godfather when the kids are getting baptised? This is the church (minus the red doors).

On the beachline we dropped down close and waved at the beachgoers.

I will be going back here again this is a boat graveyard since the early 1900's.

That chopper is solid and smooth as ever. Just don't fall out and don't lean out too far taking a picture.
As my friend once said 'boys like planes, men fly choppers'.

From there go south west to the bottom of the island. if you look on the shores you'll see the graveyard.

Not sure of all the rules but the chopper can go up to 1400ft. Under certain altitudes you can maintain certain altitudes but you can't buzz a house or something that silly. Once you enter certain areas you have to let the air controllers know who you are and let them put you into a certain altitude.
My friend (the pilot) he is a very careful pilot so he flies close to open areas and always is looking for landing opportunities (in the event he needed to).
