Ok I need to upgrade to a larger compact flash card for my Nikon D70. I am going to get a 2GB cause I am filling my 512MB up to fast and dont want to upgrade again for a long time, not until I upgrade camera's really.
So I have come to conclusions from looking around that Lexar Media and SANdisk are really the best ones.
Now since the D70 is like a year old so does it really have the capability to take advantage of the 133x write speed of the extreme III by sandisk or am I better off saving my money and buying a lexar professional 80x card.
Here are a couple I am looking at:
Lexar Professional
SanDisk Extreme III
or should I bid on this low priced Sandisk ultra II 4gb card

Looks like your camera maxes out at writing at 4.5 megs/second, which any of those cards you listed can handle.

Using the same link that Chod posted, I made my decision to buy the sandisk ultra II (2GB) over the sandisk extreme III because I didn't think the added performance was worth the premium. My camera is more than capable of reaching its 5 shots per second with the ultra II.
The only place I think you'll see a difference is during the transfer from your card reader (if you use one) to your PC. But even at that, is it worth waiting a few extra seconds to save some money? I thought so.

Personally, I'd rather have two 1 GB cards instead of one 2 GB card. This could be a better set-up for times when one card might screw up, if it gets deleted by mistake (won't lose ALL your pics), in case you lose one (bye bye pics), or in case you leave one at home/in the card reader - you'll always have one with you even if you thought it was already in the camera. Also easier for organizing pics/shots if you want to split them. Just my preference though - would rather fill two cards than fill one huge one.Originally Posted by CCColtsicehockey

Thanks for your advice guys. I ended up buying 2 seperate 1gb ultra cards. I am also thinking of buying the photo adapter for my ipod.
