Question Need help asap...video question?

I went to a concert tonight and recorded the concert with my Canon PowerShot S45 digital camera. I uploaded it to my hard drive and tried to play it back on my laptop and it didn't work. I checked and the recording was a THM file. What type of media file is that? How do I get it to play on windows media player?

Sorry, I'm new to this. Any help is appreciated.

That's not the recording, that's just a thumbnail image of the video. The video is stored in an AVI file.

When I scroll the mouse over the thumbnail, it says JPEG image. But when I scroll over the video, it says THM File. So how do I get it to play on WMP?

The video is stored as an AVI, not a JPEG or THM. AVI's will play fine in WMP.

Are you sure you copied all the files off your card? You can verify which file contains the video by looking at the file size. The THM file will only be a few KB, the JPEG might be around a meg, the AVI's should be several megs depending on the length.

You're right, I'm such a dumbass.

All the thumbnails that was showing a pic I thought it was just a pic (JPEG). But after reading what you wrote I went back over some of the imaged thumbnail and it turns out some were videos and it did play on wmp.

But some of the thumbnail that had no image were labeled THM file and it is only a few KB. Do you know what they are or how I can view them?

Thanks again.
