My "Photo Booth"

...so, I volunteered to shoot this event tonight... it's a graduation banquet for the business school @Capilano University in North Vancouver. I shot this event last year too and they asked me again this year (I won't do it next year tho).

Anyway, I wanted to test out a photo booth setup, I really wish I had a 3rd Alienbees, but I didn't so I just wing'd it. You will notice that the right side of the photo is constantly lower exposed.

(I meant to take a better photo of the setup with my one of my cameras, but forgot to before taking it down, so all I have are these from my phone right after I put it together).

I could have been done better, like I said, a 3rd monolight/Alienbees would have been nice, and didn't feel like using a flashgun. But the best part was seeing how much people were having fun.. I mean, they just LOVED it!

There was a TV for them to see the photo right after, and they were given a remote to trigger

You can see the TV in this photo

I see what you mean. I was going to say why not use a flashgun to fill the right side.

too much effort, I DID have another stand and a Yongnuo flash, but by the time I thought of it, I was too busy running around taking photos and back/forth making sure the photo booth was working. Also, I saw how much fun they were having, I didn't feel like stopping them just to add more to the setup, I was over it fixing the problem...

(pssssssst it wasn't a paid gig )

Looks like fun! I like the reflection of the umbrella in #6 in the sunglasses.

im doing the same thing (thanks adorama! ) at a wedding next weekend. Adding $400 to the bill for it

How did you get the pictures onto the monitor? Ill be using a laptop with lightroom, just like in the adorama video.

Any advise?

Sorry, i meant to say TV (it was a 24" Sony) via HDMI. But you can tether it like in the Adorama video too.

Another route, is getting an Eye-Fi card and just shoot the pics over to a tablet (or iPad). This way, people can email the pics that they want directly. Now you'll have their emails (and vice versa), which is great because maybe in the future THEY may want a photo booth setup at their event, and may contact you, free advertisement

And another note, even though the lighting was off balance, I was able to even it out in Lightroom 5 for the final product
