mini tripod = chestpod?

Hi All,

I saw an article that suggested using a mini-tripod as a chestpod, aka:
http://photo.net/pentax-camera-forum/00SXjo

It's a pretty good idea. For something longer shot, like video,
perhaps the camera strap would be used with it. If the strap is tight,
then all you'd (in theory) need to do is use one hand to hold the tripod base
against your chest, leaving one hand available to hit the shutter and/or
turn the zoom ring.

Anyone know a mini tripod with a quickplate release?

I have one of those, I've only used it with a p&s or the D90. Never thought to use that way.
