Will be checking this out over the weekend. Looks like Adobe might be getting another $100 from me.

So, did they add the ability to crop while at 100% zoom?

Hah! I doubt it, I have asked for it several times on the lightroom forums and they stare at me like I just asked them for a 'add goat' plugin.

I want fisheye/lens distortion correction more than anything else, hope it's in there. Someone posted that dual monitor (Loupe) was screwed up in the beta - hope that's not true.

Looks good. I'm still on 1.4 and love it. May be time to upgrade.

I've hit a few glitches in LR3, but overall it's not bad.
Rendering 1:1 image is a lot slower than LR2, so I suggest prerendering. LR crawls while it is doing so, even viewing images that it has already rendered, so might want to just let it finish.

I hit a crazy bug where my picture counts got negative and sync hit 'nil' errors. I had to export picture settings, remove the folder, and readd it.

Also don't change a 'filter by flag' option in development - it changes the current picture. swap to loupe first.

Biggest gripe for sure is that it just feels slow.
Even prerendered previews/1:1s take 2-3 seconds or so to rerender (?) on the screen. On LR2 it's instant.

I understand it's not optimized yet, but geez.

well that's certainly a step in the wrong direction.. LR2 is laggy and slow enough as it is.. and it was improved in that department, from LR1...

how about the problem where if you "unlock" in crop mode and set a custom crop, and then go to the next picture and go back into the custom crop and try resizing it, it reverts to the previous used custom crop? did they fix that?

hope I explained that well lol. f'ing ANNOYING

Yeah, you guys talked about it, but it didn't sound like either one of you had run actually run LR3 yet. I want to know that my continued bitching is justified.

It's not there, I think adding a '100% crop' feature has only slightly less priority than the 'add goat' feature.

You can try requesting it on the Lightroom 3 forum, see what they think.

I gave up and went back to 2.5. LR 3 is just too freakin' slow, especially with these 7d files.

I really hope they improve the performance. It bogs down like crazy on both of my computers.

I'm running it now on 64-bit Windows 7 and Server 2008. No issues yet handling raws out of a 5DMKII. They index and preview very quickly! I haven't benched it against Lightroom 2 but Adobe optimized Lightroom just like the other CS5 products to run on 64bit platforms.

Two systems:
i7 920, 6GB RAM, Win Server 2008 64bit
e6600, 8GB RAM, Win 7 64bit
