Killarney Trip pics
Thought I would put up a few photos from my recent trip to Killarney with my best friend Erik.
We stopped at the Hungry Bear for breakfast,...a tradition.
Me getting ready at the car.
The start of the trail.
Me at the top of the first little uphill part,...a taste of things to come.
And,.....random other pics
More in a minute.

Ok, thats enough.
Anyway, the trip was pretty crazy. We ran into a Black Bear on top of a Ridge on the way to Heaven Lake. It obviously did not hear the bear bell,....and Erik and I had stopped talking at the time. It was about 15 in front of us, which was kinda nuts. We waved our arms and made lots of noise and it ran off into the bushes/trees. Then we got an adrenaline burst and gunned it outta there haha.

Thanks for the nice comments guys/gals.
To answer a few of your questions:
I had never been on the East side of Killarney before (been on the West side), and found out quickly how different the East side Terrain is. To put it bluntly, there is a lot of bloody ROCK. It is really pretty, but the white quartzite ridges are punishing to say the least.
Wndrlst, my back help up fine actually. My feet and ankles took quite a pounding though.
We camped at campsites on lakes where we booked our trip.
Few pics of campsite life at Heaven Lake.
Erik Cooking
Our food up in the tree far from the tent/site to keep it away from bears.
Our humble abode for a few nights.
Back end of the tent
Front view
The pic way above with erik standing in his sandals was the view from about 20 feet from the back of our tent. This is the view from 10 feet in front of our tent.
