I am never traveling without my camera again. I don't even know what the hell I was thinking. Well, I do, but it was stoooopid.

I'm in Florida for a conference & thought nbd, I'll be inside in ugly conference rooms all day, and at social/networking functions at night.

I'm a dumbass. First of all, this hotel is sick (Gaylord Palms, Orlando if anyone has ever been here). There are orchids & alligators & turtles & fish & ice sculptures, and......blah blah. Also, the AAEP Foundation rented out Seaworld last night & sponsored a private Shamu show & concert + a live charity auction. I WANT MY CAMERA!!

But since I suck at photography and still have the kit lens. I got over it pretty quick.

Yes, it happened to me two weekends ago when a friend and I went on a unplanned road trip.
I sucks, but you have to let it go otherwise you won't enjoy yourself as much.

 

My Nokia N95 takes good enough pics for me when I don't have my canon....

And yes, I've kicked myself for the same thing. It's one big reason I got the SD700. It's so easy to carry I never have the excuse of not having a camera with me.

I know the feeling. I almost didn't bring the dSLR with us to Jamaica, which actually would have been fine. I hardly used it - we used the P&S mostly. However, if we didn't bring it, I'm sure I would have found some reason to be pissed.

There are plenty of photo 'emergencies' where a camera comes in really
handy. You could get into an accident. You could accidentally meet an old friend.
You could see something crazy on the street.

Pocket sized cameras are so small that there's almost no reason not to have one
on you 24x7.

Dammit, that reminds me, too, that they brought one of the Budweiser Clydesdales, along with the donkey from this commercial into our conference room the first day. I got crap pics with my cell phone. They had a couple out at the Seaworld event, too, but again...crap pics.
