HDR's of 3g TL

I like #1, 5, and 8 as I think they are the most "natural" looking. Any way to PP the light pole out of the center of the roof of the car?

Is it the HDR technique that is making it stand out like that, or is that pretty typical of even a single exposure? I'm just curious from a processing standpoint.

Much easier than photoshopping later.
What's with the haloing effect around the car - is that an HDR artifact?

the HDR probably did make it stand out a bit more, but the original pic is just as prominent.
And i agree with the last poster. I wasnt paying attention at all when i took these pics. Definitely rushed it as the morning shoppers were arriving.
the haloing effect seems to be a side effect of hdr processing. i believe it can be fixed in photoshop but that's a whole new ball game for me. Still a big learning curve for me as far as photos and hdrs are concerned, but all in all, pretty happy with the results.

It's strange how #5 has almost no halo, and in the others it shoots halfway up the light pole. #1 and #3 the halo blends in more with the background so it
doesn't give you that 'WTF?' feeling you get when you look at most HDRs.
Comparing your previous picture with the first set, the new angle has a different feel than the first set, so perhaps the best option was to just turn the car so you didn't shoot towards the light poles. Pretty annoying, ain't it?

thanks for the comment. i'm still quite ways from a hdr that'll win any prizes, but as my 2nd attempt, i was pleased to figure out how photomatix pro worked. I nearly gave up on it on more then one occassion. Here's my first attempt at hdr; some would probably like it more for it's natural look, but wasnt what i was aiming for:

ouch...that's a lot of HDR-ing...
unless you're going for very unnatural look with HDR photos, here's two pieces of advice:
-make sure the settings you use in your HDR app don't washout some of the small details in your image (i.e. blacking out your tires and losing the detail in them)...
-try not to overdo the HDR detail to the point it hurts your eyes to look at the image...add some enhancement to the image, but try to keep it somewhat natural looking at the same time...
also, instead of hijacking your thread, check my signature for my HDR shots of my 3G TL...under the 'stock can be sex' photoshoots...

thanks for the advice. I took a peek at your pictures and those are the exactly results i'd want to achieve. Mind i ask what programs you used and a brief breakdown of the work flow for the photos? much appreciated!

anyways, the two programs i used are Photoshop and Photomatix Pro...
those pics in my 'stock can be sex' series were all done from one photo for each angle...i start in Photomatix Pro, generate an HDR, then tonemap it till i like the way it looks...sometimes make two different tonemapped images if you like one area of the image in one tonemap and another area in the other tonemapped image...
then open them up in Photoshop...play with the highlights, saturation, hue, curves, blending modes, levels, contrast and shadows and see what you like best...
in one of those images in my series, i took two different tonemapped images and blended them together...the foreground looked better in one image and the background looked better in another...
there's not really a step-by-step to HDR...it's just how the image is turning out and what you want to improve in it...those images posted above are very nice...he must of had some great lighting that day...which reminds me, avoid shooting in direct bright sunlight...some of the best shots are found on overcast days or where the sun is filtered through the clouds...
play with the burn and dodge tools as well in photoshop to darken and brighten certain areas of your images...it'll make a difference...
