HDR question

ok so i HDRd some photos today. it was my first time trying it. i have photomatix basic. How can I view them w/out photomatix? is this possible? do i need something special to read the .hdr files? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

Doing a quick Google search, there are a number of HDR Viewer options... check it out:

And of course you can view and manipulate .HDR files with programs like Photomatix or Artizen. I think newer versions of Photoshop will also open that format.

Normally though, if you have done an HDR and want to "produce" it, you would save it as a JPG, not a HDR. Is that what you want to do? Of course you can view JPG's with a myriad of progs.

in the photomatix I have, I can't save it as a .jpg. Maybe this is because it's the free version? ill do some more messin and some more research. thanks for your help!!

if you bring it down to 8-bit you can save it as a jpg

8-bit save as TIFF file
