Getting to know my DSLR
Getting to know my DSLR
Well my D90 and myself have had about three weeks together, and it's been fun, frustrating, adicting, annoying and informative. I'm alittle all over the place as far as subjects I shoot, I just don't take portraits much at all yet.
I thought about this one for the contest, but I thought there really isn't much feeling in it, just kinda bland. and the manlift basket has a blueish hue from the shade.

A over processed shot to try make an ok pic more interesting.

Another poor mans macro here.

I'm not sure why, but I like this shot.

I like the vibrant colours in this one.

My first pano, used straight raw files with no proccessing. not even ACR or CaptureNx

I like your composition. Looks like you're making quite a few adjustments to color, tint, and all the other sliders. A pro told me right after I got back into photography again, " You paid a lot of money for a nice camera. Nikon has invested millions in the technology that's in it. Trust them".
Thanks guys.
Shalooby, when I'm shooting I tend try alot of things out. I'll often snap my first shot of a subject in complete auto, then check how the camera set the shot. then I'll switch to manual adjust the settings the same as auto, then start adjusting towards what I want to see in the image. So I have alot of "straight" shots, and alot of tweeked ones. then I'm selective about what I post.
It seems easy to shoot something beutiful (like flowers), what I want to hone is the ability to create beuty out of non-descript subjects through lighting, timing, uniqueness, angle etc... . this seems to be the most interesting part of photography for me.
