Does Anyone Else Feel This Way?
^ that image was derived from these two photos which were taken about 15 minutes apart. I had no idea the sunset was about to be immense. It was fucking unreal. I didn't turn up the saturation on the sky at all...it really looked like that. It was bothering me that we had relocated to the mall and had missed a great opportunity for a sunset background, so with lightroom and PS it was possible to make the two photos come together.

I assume thats how they came togerther.
not sure if I'm staying on topic... but for ME, post processing is a HUGE part of (my) photography. I think it's fun actually. Here in Vancouver (as you guys already know), it rains a lot in the winter... And while some of my gear is weather sealed, sometimes I'll go for days without going out to shoot, just because this Southern Cali ass still hasn't gotten used to all this rain. So, sometimes I'll go through my old photos in my external hard drive and look for stuff that I may have overlooked and post process it. OR, perhaps re-pp something that I think I could have done a better job since I'm constantly learning different ways to PP.
But as for what something like Lightroom can do, here's my contribution.
For example, this was originally taken like this... nothing exciting, and obviously overexposed, and even off focus (on the two men)

I realized after that I didn't like the way I framed it, so I cropped it like this along with some adjustments in Lightroom 4 (thank goodness for 24 mega pixel
)

But I went further with the B&W conversion using the Nik Silver Efex Pro plugin and was satisfied with the final result

so, yeah... going back to the OP, using post processing software IS a very important part of my photography
