Dirty Fun

A friend of mine has an event each year and invites a bunch over for a big bbq and a bit of dirt bike fun in the undeveloped land behind his house. It is a lot of fun for kids and parents . I took the camera and snapped a bunch of pics. I figured I would share some of them...

Race Action

He Recovered

The girls got in on the fun. We were spraying water on the track to keep the dust down.

Start them young... Believe it or not this little girl can drive. They just throttle it down so she can only move at about a jog pace.

This was the fastest kid on 2 wheels...

Until... The big kids showed up...

The adult driving is the guy who owns the house and most of the bikes. If you look close his ankle is wrapped. It is broken. He has broke it a few times and will probably break it more times. You cant stop him from horsing around...

Even the failing sun didnt slow the kids down...

Sorry for the largish pics.

Nice shots. That kid riding in shorts would make me nervous if he was mine.

Yeah, the safety rules were all kinda thrown away. The little one without the helmet was a little scary, the shorts, the sandals, It was all a little risky. No one was hurt.

That isnt to say there was no spills. One little guy ran into the house and broke a window. Another little guy wiped out on the track and took a handlebar in the gut and reopened an old elbow scrape. In all cases the kid just brushed off the dirt and was more bruised in the ego than anywhere else.

On a similar theme an adult got stung by a yellowjacket 4 times - he is allergic to bees so fortunately it was a yellowjacket.
