Thumbs up Cleaning House

Finally sitting down and starting to go through over 23k photos (I know some of you have many more.)

I am just deleting the shit out of non-selects and cleaning up the library and freeing up HD space.

Its a pain...not just going but then you have to make all the proper back up copies, etc.

Its easy so far...but I haven't gotten to the pics of my kids yet...thats where I have the hardest time getting rid of non-selects...just too much good/sentimental stuff in there.

I have to do the same thing. I have way too much garbage mixed in with the good stuff. Will take an eternity to go through, but I have to do it too. I don't have kids, but I feel that way about pictures of my dog. Especially as of late with almost losing her.

I had to do this a few months back, as well as consolidate image collections across a few different machines that I was not keeping up with. It sucked.

I've been meaning to do it for a couple years. Instead of deleting any, I just keep adding more trash in. One day, I swear I will tackle this.

Im trying as much as I can to get rid of lots of clutter...in house and on the computer.

I'm starting to get rid of most of my books...I used to LOVE having bookshelf's full of books...now with the iPad, etc...Im starting to think of the real estate I could have open if I got rid of shit on shelves.

One of my friend's hard disks had trouble and he almost lost a 2 year's worth of pictures - a good reminder to clean up my stuff and back it up.

I need to get busy with that.
I usually back up albums once I've finished with them (i.e. pruned out nonsense) but I really should make an immediate backup of stuff immediately, just in case.

I always back everything up right away. This is just cleaning house.

I do this a few times a week...

I've had some relief since getting a 3TB drive last week, though.
