It's amazing what perspective does for one's photographic ambitions. I work in downtown Chicago and love looking at the city in person or in photos. I have very little desire, however, to photograph it myself.

I know just what you mean, Billiam - it's easy to get jaded in a way. Not to the point you don't see the charm, just that it's not fresh and something you want to point your lens at.

Drigo, I do have tons more. A few more are up on my flickr, and I'm still sorting. I have lots of near-duplicates, though.

 

I always enjoy your photo submissions wndrlst, these are no exception. Great shots! Was this your first trip to Chicago? Did you get any of the concert/stage thingy over by the bean?

 

Thank you. It was my first time to do more than pass through the airport. I did get to the Gehry Amphitheatre - unfortunately, the light was pretty crummy when we circled back that way later in the day. Very heavily overcast. I was also really, really sick. As in stopping to nap on the grass or a park bench, sick. I haven't gotten to those shots yet, but I'm not expecting anything very good. :/

Drigo - I meant to add that yes, some of them are from Navy Pier. The Balloon Man & the little kids dancing. I liked this bit of silliness, too...

Great stuff wndrlst. While all are nice I love the first Bean reflection, Balloon Man and the Fountain the most.

BTW... in a few days, I will see your Chicago and raise you a Paris.

Great pics of the city. I love the first shot. Chicago is very photo-friendly that I have to take pics every time I go down. BTW, what did you think of Gino's East?

Thanks. I have tons to processes from Paris, Scotland and around London.

And I have been forgiven. In fact, she's ready to go home, now - which is good since we leave tomorrow. Going out for a little bit to get some last shots in London.

Amazing shots wdnlrlst! The pictures with the kids playing are great especially the shot at the crown fountain.

I forgot how much cool stuff there is to shoot!

 

I took these from the top of the cock when I was there in June. Taken with my Sony T300 and no tripod so they could've been better.

Thank you. I'm finding that I enjoy shooting people. OK, that came out wrong. But seriously - when I shoot nature photos, I prefer to have nothing man-made or associated with man in the frame. I've been shifting my thoughts on this a bit lately, though. For a number of reasons. Anyway...this was fun!

you know, as matter-of-fact that is, it would probably increase your people photo ops by like, 2000%. it's just how strange random people situations work, they are very literal and more receptive to such things, thereof.

As amusing as that shirt is to us, I'm pretty confident that a substantial majority of the public makes no association between the word 'shoot' and photography.

 

I think the picture of the camera kind of "gives it away"..

Chitown is my favorite big city to date. I always look forward to taking photos and hitting Rush St. for the night.
