CanOWNED!

I think someone wishes they splurged on the SLR right about now.

I count 33 Canons and 6 non-Canons in that shot. No clue what the P&S is though...

The 6 non- Canon lenses are probably Sigma EX APO lenses on Canon bodies... still Ownage!

Isn't that the press section? I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe his luggage didn't come through.

Doesn't make it any less funny but an A for effort.

Hmmm, interesting. I had mentioned in another thread that all lenses seen on the sidelines at sporting events appear to be white, thus Canon. But I also mentioned that may be because white stands out more than black.

Guess I was wrong.

Canon has dominated the sports photograpy world for years. The only real thing holding Nikon back is their lack of choice & support for super-tele's.

Some joker was arguing with me one day and said "Nikon owns the sports photography market". I just busted up laughing...

In Nikon's defense, you can order their lenses in a white-ish color - but I haven't seen one out in public yet - so it is possible for a white lens seen from afar to be a Nikon (or Minolta). Possible...but not probable.

Nikon makes excellent glass but IMHO, I think what's holding Nikon back is their subpar AF speed in comparison to Canon. That plus their lack of support compared to Canon (who has people on site at major events!) really seals the deal...

The P&S guy is probably doing what my uncle used to do. Make up a fake paper from another state and make your own press pass.

He was always at profesional games with a vhs camcorder on the sidelines. They give tonns of free food.

That's too funny. The white lens thing is kind of a pain for Joe Average Shooter (like me ) in public, but it sure as hell identifies Canon on the big stage. I mean like right now.

You could probably find a similar scene at every major sporting event in the world. Didn't know that about Nikon tele's. I always assumed their family of lenses was very similar to Canon's.

So I was going through our Spam filter at work and saw something from a customer about a great marketing idea for Canon involving the World Cup. Sure enough it was that pic.
