canon 30d - how to select shooting in RAW format?
Hey,
Perhaps I am paranoid ... when I turned on my camera, I tried to change my settings from JPG format (L) to RAW format. HOWEVER ... when I went to the option menu, it only allowed me to shoot in JPG format.
I went to the manual and it said the RAW format option should be there. What's up? Has this happened to anyone before? What do I do? (Too lazy to read the whole manual ...)

If it's like the RebelXT, you can only shoot in raw when you're in one of the "creative" modes: A-Dep, M, Av, Tv, or P. You can't use it with any of the modes where the camera sets the entire exposure for you. Do you know what mode your dial was set to?

That is the correct answer.
