My Dad is going to get my Mom a camera for Christmas. His neighbor has the Sony DSC-T100, so he was looking to get that. Does anyone have an opinion on it?

I was looking at rev's thread and saw people mention the

1) Canon SD870
2) Canon PowerShot S5


My parents will use the camera for parties and vacations. Thanks to everyone that helps


Forgot to mention some stuff..

- Price range 200-300ish
- My parents are older, so something that is easy to use would be best. They don't really need a lot of extra features. They want good quality pictures though.

 

One dig that I read about the Sony is the quality of the pictures, not so good. For your parents I vote SD870.

 

Yeah my Dad likes the SD870 the best.

 

I bought an SD870 for my parents this year, and I think they're going to love it. It's a great little camera!
