Camera Bags
What kind of bags/backpacks are you guys using? I am planning on getting a DSLR this holiday season and would love to know what a few good bags are. Maybe something with external straps for a tripod if I go hiking?
What do all of you use?

I've been using my Tamrac Expedition 5 for the last couple of years and I like it a lot. It allows me to carry pretty much my entire kit plus a tripod, but it's not small. It is comfortable, though, and is perfect for day hiking and stuff like that. I just got an Expedition 3 yesterday, which is much smaller and lets me take a nice day kit like my 20D, 17-55, 10-22 and 580 flash along with minimal hassle.
I like Tamrac stuff because it's well thought out and well made, but there's lots of other choices out there too.
I still love my Lowepro Minitrekker, although I may eventually buy something with room for a laptop to make travel easier. We'll see. For now it's working just fine. Very comfortable to hike with, but getting heavy because I can't seem to stop buying things.

Thanks for the info guys,
HJR, I even did a search for "bags" in the camera forum, but got no results..
I guess i am probably looking for a waist-pack type bag, for camera and two or three lenses, with some way to attach a tripod. Thanks for the input everyone.

If you have some camera shops in your area, I've found it helpful to take some of my gear to the store and try the bags out right there. It really helps to fit your gear into the bag so you can see if it's what you're looking for.

If there is any way possible, you should go to the store to try on the bag.
Preferably with some gear, so you can load it up.
I'm very happy with my Kata R103 bag, but it definitely gets crowded with more than 3 lenses.
Paired up with the T-212 it's great.
If you don't have a lot of lenses, the Tamrac Velocity series is great.
it's a backpack, but you can pull it around your body, so you have very very
quick access to your camera. Best of both worlds.
