the leak info said it will ship March 9th. so not yet.

i do like that it will natively stitch panos.

(not sure if LR5 can do it)

haha me too but I've been yearning (word of the day) for LR5 to finally get HDR and panorama functions. I only have PSCS2 for that stuff, it's really old and sucks compared to what's out there now.

If you own a newer computer, this upgrade will be well worth it. They are forgetting older operating systems and CPU's will this release. Shit that would boog it down.

^ In the process of building a new machine. LR5 caused some performance issues with my current one so this will only make it worse.

If I understand correctly, if you have an older machine, you might as well not buy LR6. But will have to wait for more information on that.

Lightroom 6 Is Coming But Will Require Better Hardware

Perhaps in order to achieve this, Adobe has announced that a 64 bit operating system will be required for Lightroom 6, which means MAC OS X 10.8 or higher, and 64 bit version of Windows 7, 8 or 8.1. If you are not running the compatible software you’ll still be able to install and run Lightroom 5 and have the use of LR mobile. There is also a rumor through the grapevine that the next version of Lightroom will be available for standalone purchase aside from CC. But that’s hearsay.

Waiting for this to come out.

Seeing as I had to switch to Muse for my latest website, and Ive been using photoshop for watermarking specific images for instagram (LR won't work for my needs with that)

Im pretty much being forced into having to go with CC...my 30 days trials are up.

Thankfully, my wife is a teacher, so I will use her discount...but Im still irked about it.

At this point who doesn't have a 64bit computer?

If you don't, then damn that's some old stuff.

Some interesting new features. Im probably most excited for the performance gains of bing GPU dependent and not RAM dependent...only took over a decade to start this this Adobe...

Because of my use of Muse to make my website now, I will need to switch to a dreaded CC subscription...at least my wife is a teacher so Ill get the discount.

LR6 standalone will be $149...no talk of a less expensive upgrade...boo adobe.

Well even at $149 it's a better deal if I only use LR.

LR5 came out on June 9 2013, so that's 22 months ago. Or $220 total so far if I had paid for that 9.99 per month CC subscription.

Unless they do annual versions I'll stick with stand alone.

It was better when they had $80 upgrade charges...but they want to push people to the cloud.

I resisted as long as I could, but I will have to cave because I need more than LR now. Just another business expense.

Glad I found this thread. I've been looking into getting LR5 or 4, but now since LRCC is out I may just get that one. Have to start somewhere I guess.

got the update, thanks! I had to sign out AND restart my computer.

I haven't had time to mess with it much, but I just noticed there's "Photomerge" with HDR and/or Panoramic stitching now so... gives me a reason to go out and use the tilt/shift this week Not a big deal though, I was using that feature in PS before, it's just one less step now I guess

So Adobe is not offering an upgrade for current users? Everyone has to pay $149 for LR6?

Seriously?

No, the upgrade is $79 but they make it hard to find.

Go to adobe.com, click on LR. Scroll to the bottom to find LR6 for desktop only (non CC). Add it to your cart. Once in the cart, click on EDIT and then where it says "I want to buy" and change to upgrade. Then select your current version and choose SAVE.

Price should now show $79.

Thanks Man!

Is Adobe going to offer future upgrades to LR for the NON cloud subscription upgrade? I've heard they aren't going to offer any future upgrades.

I've heard the same thing.
I find that $10 for PS and LR CC is worth it. I just got the latest version of LR without paying anything more than what I was already paying for the prior version/mo. That's a deal for me considering how much I use LR and PS.

I'm sooooo tired of this shit

sometimes I can get by the night and it only crashes a couple times, but sometimes (like right now), it's crashing literally every other picture or even after every picture

You have to have deeper issues going down with your system. Lightroom never crashes on me.

yeah, but I have no idea where, I looked into this, some people say they uninstalled/reinstalled and it fixed the problem, I have done that at least 3 times now, and still the same. I must have taken close to 400 pictures today shooting a paintball tournament, and now I have to re-upload the pictures to LR5 and start up from there, it would be faster going that route

You might want to be sure you don't have any outstanding OS updates. There could be a graphics driver issue now that LR uses GPUs for lots of things.
