^^Cool idea, though. Try messing around with different angles to see if you come up with something you like. I'd try mounting the camera on a tripod and placing it behind me and try to include the water in the shot

Yeah, trying to get it to work was the tough part... The "water" that the shot is reflecting off of is an upturned garbage can lid filled with water. I was nowhere near a body of water. In fact I was parked on the trailer in my driveway

Thanks very much for all the kind feedback. The "feel" of this shot turned out better than I expected.

Hey, that's cool! So, is that the explanation you spoke of for the noise?

Yeah. Pics of the setup are here.
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d8...r/IMG_0710.jpg

And my ghetto flash reflector... Yes that is tinfoil. (i need a bounce flash)

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d8...r/IMG_0711.jpg

So between the low light reflected image, and poor flash performance the end result is a little laughable. My neighbour was watching me climb in and out of my boat over and over racing against my timer - no doubt he thinks he has a retard for a neighbour.

So, I just realized I'll be coming back into town on the date that the voting is supposed to start, and I'm not sure what time I'll be getting in. If someone wants to set it up to get it going, be my guest, otherwise it'll just be a little late....

That's Millennium Park in Chicago. What I'd like to know is when was that? There's usually half a bazillion people around the Bean any time the weather is decent enough to draw people to the park.

Well,if you gotta know 5/18/07. We landed , went to our hotel ( The James ) and our room wasn't ready. My wife went with friends and I started walking downtown. Went ahead and walked to Millenium Park to get some pics. It was packed with people! Temp was in the 70's and sunny.

Now....to get that pic took some time. After some trial and error with taking pics from chest level, I waited 'til no one happened to be around and snapped. It took awhile because everyone was taking photos, but it was worth the wait.

^^^ It's a good shot. I was thinking maybe a tripod and a long shutter. But of course there wasn't a tripod in the picture.

I just remembered today is theoretically the last day. Unfortunately, I never got out to shoot anything new so I'll have to tap into the archives once again. The color is definitely not to my satisfaction on this, but whatever...
