A combination of both.

As for my comment...it was also inresponse to your filmmaking thread. I'm more then willing to try and help, but you need to read the thread and give me more details...not about the plot. I don't care what your story is...tell me what you are thinking about your project.

Spring Time Cookouts

Hey I dunno if this is a good idea or not but we had a lot more traffic when we had the photo contest listed in the main forum. I know its a picture post but I think the whole contest thing justifies it being out there plus we would probably have more entries.

^ I like that picture, has nice color contrast, could use a little bit of saturation edited in PS. I think with pictures that require vivid contrast a bit of saturation can make it look really nice (again to some purists it might make it look too artificial )

Agree with that one. Maybe when we're all ready to vote we can have a sticky to this thread on the main page? That'll insure the most votes.

It's already oversaturated. If you run a gamut warning in PS, you'll see almost all of the flowers are out of gamut.

Nothing against your picture Srika, I think it looks nice. I just think it doesn't need more saturation as pixelharmony pointed out.

hehe.. actually I did try some saturation, and it did make it look too artificial. I coulda put on just a little bit, but the same can be said for any picture.

The other thing that's bad about too much saturation is, well, it saturates the color.

oh.. right. :P

I agree, it doesn't need any more of that gamut, whatever that is.

also, what would I do to prevent that from happening in the original shot?

saw it, I wanted to know quicker, lol. I'm at work, the original pic is at home.

I may be able to get it though, but the remote connection is just a little bit tedious for pic finding... I have no idea what folder its in. :<
