This is being done on Stogie's behalf, as he is the winner of
Photo Contest #25 and is unable to post this contest.

Acurazine Photo Contest #26
The theme for this contest is: "Neon Night"
The rules for this contest are as follows:
1) Neon lights must be the main subject.
2) These must be night shots
-Lighting must be applied in camera and should not be adjusted to any great degree post processing. Tweaks are OK, but the idea is to get it right "in camera" and not create the entire lighting theme in LR or PS.
-The subject can be anything you deem acceptable w/i rules stated above.
-You must be the person that took the photos. Previous photos are acceptable as long as you are the one that captured the image.
-One submission per contest.
-Images must be no larger than 900px in any direction. Links to larger images are allowed but you must have one that is under 900px for the poll.
-All contestants must host their own pictures.
-All pictures must have a title.
-While post processing in photoshop is allowed, adding or removing parts of the picture is not. In the event a photo is suspected to be "photochopped," the contestant will be asked to provide the original picture.
Important dates and poll info:
Entries must be submitted to this thread no later than Sunday, December 14th at 6pm PST.
The poll will start on Monday, December 15th. Multiple votes will be allowed.
The poll will close on Monday, December 22th at 6pm PST.

Whoever lives in or near Las Vegas is golden for this one. 
Cool theme. Maybe I'll actually be able to participate in this one. Never could get anything close worth posting the past couple of ones.

I snapped this shot with my Canon digital last year when we were in Bisbee, Arizona, celebrating my wife's 27th birthday. The preying mantis was crawling around on the neon light on the Shady Dell's main office porch. I always loved the green monocromatic nature of this shot and figured it fit the contest well.

But I have been known to be wrong before.
Now concerning Neon as the subject. I live in FL. and there isn't a shortage of neon here, but maybe in other areas of this country there is. I know that there is lighted signage everywhere. So...to make it where more can partake in this contest, I feel relaxing that restriction won't hurt the integrity of the contest. The idea is to get us taking photos and having fun doing it.....I hope this helps.

I know I might be pushing the limits of the rules here.
Neon doesnt do well in the cold here so use of it in signage is limited. But... Due to the season there is lots of neon rope light available
