I'm glad you said that, too, evilone. I don't mean to imply that it's a military or truly "Memorial Day" based theme. Just that MD is what inspired me to choose the theme. Obviously, as usual, any interpretation of the word "memento" is welcome.

Shame I'm no where near my parents house. Considering my father spent over 25 years in the army there is a TON of shit I could have some fun with...but its OK...I think I might have some cool stuff here

Was a gift from an ex. Kept it because it doesn't bother me that it reminds me of her and she told me to hold onto it until the distance between us gets shorter, which means, wait two years until I move.
Corny yes, but amazing what one little thing can do to cheer you up.
For all of those wondering what it is, it's a small music box.
Yes, the mirror is a place to hold a picture, and yes I do have a picture of her that she put in there, but I took it out to prevent all the leghumpers on AZINE.

Bump... I have never seen the current contest get this far down the page. Obviously this one is challenging our creativity...
I have a 5 day vacation coming up so hopefully that will give me some time to work out an entry...

This theme as you said makes you think and makes you most likely to go shoot a new image, just not pull something out of a folder. I would love to see as many enties for this one as the last one. If so, we really have something going here.
With that said, I'm having a hard time.

this teddy bear is hanging on a fence surrounding the memorial for the 168 victims of the April 19, 1995 Oklahoma City bombing on the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. blurred out in the background are other numerous mementos left behind by others paying tribute to loved ones who died on this tragic day.
i wasn't sure if i could come up with something for this contest, but just the other day i received an email from a woman in Vancouver asking if she could use this photo (the color version) in an article she was writing about the OKC bombing. i said yes and then it occurred to me this was the perfect photo for me to submit.

I've been Canonized ;)
I think that, because of the "memorial" theme, everyone is trying to think of something that has a personal meaning to them, then find a way to photograph it in a way that conveys that meaning. Difficult subject matter will, most likely, reduce the entries, but make us think more about the photograph's composure.
I've got the idea, it's just getting it right in the photo.

I don't think some of you realize how much yall are limiting yourselfs. Go back up and read what the OP wrote. There are SOOOOO many possibilities with this one. It's just a matter of using your imagination.
I'm not gonna lie, this isn't an easy topic, lol, but I think it seperates the dogs from the pups

You should be slapped.
I am trying to figure out how to execute one of two shots...And I technically dont have the proper tools to pull either off, at least how I truly envision...so I'm playing around in my mind and thinking...my first round of shots sucked.

Keep on pondering and experimenting and it will come to you....even it if is not how you originally envisioned...it will come
