***Acurazine Photo Contest #16 - A Day's Work ***
This contest is about a goal more so than a specific theme. That goal being four images shot on the same day. Since this can be potentially challenging, three images is also acceptable but see if you can go for four. A theme among the images is encouraged but not mandatory. If you go for a theme, it can be anything you want; subject matter, shapes, colors, whatever. The images just have to be shot on the same day. We'll consider "day" to be a calendar day.
Your "component images" should be assembled into a single image file. To keep this simple and focused on photography and not "digital imaging," there are some additional rules added that are specific to this particular contest. The overall gist of these should be more or less self-evident.
Rules unique to this particular contest are:
-Your 3 or 4 component images may not overlap in your final assembled file.
-Your component images must be presented as rectangular or square shapes and have normal "hard" edges.
-The background for your final assembled file must be a single solid color. Thin line borders of a different color such as Photoshop's stroke commands are allowed.
-No text may be added to background area of your assembled image file (i.e. no poster-style presentations).
-Your final assembled image file can be up to 1024 pixels in any dimension.
"Standard" rules for this contest are as follows:
-Any interpretation of the goal/theme that falls within AcuraZine rules is welcome.
-You must be the person that took the photo(s). Previous photos are acceptable as long as you are the one that captured the image(s).
-One submission per contest.
-Images must be no larger than 1024px in any direction. Links to larger images are allowed but you must have one that is under 1024px for the poll.
-All contestants must host their own pictures.
-All pictures must have a title.
-While post processing in photoshop is allowed, adding or removing parts of the picture is not. In the event a photo is suspected to be "photochopped" the contestant will be asked to provide the original picture.
Important dates and poll info:
Entries must be submitted to this thread no later than Nov. 4th @ 6pm EST. The poll will start on Nov. 5th @ 6pm EST (or thereabouts). Multiple votes will be allowed. The poll will close at 6pm EST on Nov. 12th. In the event of a tie, we will have a lightning round of voting from 6pm EST Nov 13th to 6pm EST Nov. 14th where people get one vote.

Hopefully I made the intent of this clear enough. The basic gist is to leave the "theme" open and just see what we can all come up with in the span of one day. I thought something like this might encourage us all to put on our creative thinking caps or at least wear them in a different way than we're used to.

You can do it without Photoshop - I shall assume you have PC's - there's probably a similar solution for Macs as well.
Open Paint and click Image... Attributes and then put in 1024 x 1024 (or whatever you want) and there is your canvas. You can copy and paste the 3-4 images into it (from other instances of Paint) and arrange how you want.
This is what the attributes screen looks like:
Hope that helps.

I like this idea, but I think 1024px might be pretty small for all 4 images combined. Unless you go with a square layout, you're only going to have ~200px for each image.

I miss my 03 CL-S :(
Well I think that should be enough to get the gist of each entry - just have the detailed image pop in a new window when clicked.
Otherwise, viewing this page on a smaller monitor is gonna suck having to pan every which way.

I was apprehensive at first, but the more I think of the possibilities, the more I like the concept of this contest. Now if I only had free time to go out and shoot...

Oh! I have an idea...
Thanks Dan for helping to clarify what Billiam is looking for... Great way to start this round...
<--- trying to figure out how he is going to fit 4 photo-ops into 24hrs...

I guess thats not "technically" considered in the loop but its about as close as you can get. sorry, I'm from the suburbs... what do you expect? When its my friends and I talking we'd just consider that downtown... however we'd also consider Pulaski and Lawrence downtown as well.
