Moving to Sacramento

Hey guys,

I just moved to downtown Sacramento for a year. I'm going to be shipping my car over here as well. It's an 02 TL with some mods.

I had a couple Cali questions. Do you guys think I will have to register my car for a Cali plate, or will I be able to get away with my AZ plates for a year?

Also, any drag strips, tracks, or dynos around downtown Sac? Almost everything closed down in AZ.

He could have just paid for registration and didn't want to pay again. I'll let the OP chime in on this.
Either way, welcome to the 916! We should get a small Sac meet going

Yea for sure! I checked out the drag strip and it was pretty cool, only $15 on Wednesdays. I'm still looking around for a good affordable dyno shop, so let me know if you think of the name.

Yea, I recently payed for registration in AZ, so I think I'm good until it expires.

We should definitely set up a Sactown meet. Maybe at the Sac Raceway on October 2nd? They're giving away free t-shirts that day!

I'd be down. Do they charge for that? Maybe that could be the next sac meet after the sac state meet.

You might be able to get away with it not registering it depending on you staying out of trouble and depending if your insurance will cover you while your here in CA for an extended period of time if it doesn't and you get insurance here your AZ registration will get suspended and if you do end up registering it in CA you have to get CA insurance because the DMV here only recognizes CA ins company electronic filings.

I moved back a little over a year and a half ago lol. And the place that I was thinkin about with the dyno was Driven Authority but from what I've heard recently is that it wasn't working right or something like that, so I'm not sure on other spots with Dyno.

there's an established quality muffler shop here in stockton (30 min away from you) owned/operated by a straight up drag racer - real cool guy has put full from the engine back exhausts on countless cars over the past 15 yrs. or so & he has/runs a dyno. i'm sure there's a place in sac, but if you can't find one call him up - quinn @ west lane muffler, stockton, ca

As far as the car registration, will you be maintaining your residency in AZ? If not, the CA-DMV will require a CA license for your carand law enforcement will help them get it anyway they can. Also, as clpassenubye mentioned, be sure your AZ insurance policy will cover you will you are in CA for an extended period of time.

How come everyone who drives an acura end up in Sacramento. I hardly ever see many Acurazine potential cars down in the East Bay/SF area
